Brackish

Geoff Kagan Trenchard, guest curated by Urban Word NYC, punctuates his 100-hour creative residency with two work-in-process showings of Brackish. A spoken word and performance piece, Brackish explores liminal spaces: being queer, being crazy, subtle winks, awkward handshakes after an unsuccessful flirt, holding still when the people right next to you might explode. The notions of “passing” as well as the effects of disclosures and concealments in identity politics are also fittingly incorporated into his work.
